DEXTER AXLE AQUIRED THE RV PARTS BUSINESS (INCLUDING VENTLINE) FROM PHILLIPS INDUSTRIES

Dexter Axle Press Release

Elkhart, Ind. - Dexter Axle announced in March of this year, that it would acquire the RV, cargo, and horse trailer door business from Philips Products, as well as acquire its Ventline product offerings.

The transition of this business, along with the hiring of 112 Philips employees into Dexter, was complete May 4, 2009.

“The addition of these quality product offerings were natural complements to markets that Dexter already serves, and where Dexter is well known for providing superior quality, service, and support,” said Adam Dexter, president of Dexter Axle.

Tomkins Industries, the parent company of Dexter Axle and Philips Products, announced June 1st that it will be closing Philips Products. Philips Products currently produces doors and windows for the manufactured housing and residential commercial markets. The segments of Philips Products recently acquired by Dexter Axle will not close.

Dexter is committed to the markets it serves. The management team at Dexter has an existing knowledge and extensive level of experience with door and venting products. Though employees of Dexter Axle are saddened by the impact the decision to close Philips Products will have on employees, Dexter’s plans to grow the recently acquired business from Philips is unaffected by the closing of Philips Products.
