Minneapolis, Minn.-based Onan RV Generators has changed its name to Cummins Onan, designed to “strengthen the worldwide tie” with parent company and engine builder Cummins Inc.

According to a press release, the new brand will replace the Onan name on all generator products, including lines supplied to the recreational vehicle industry.

The company said a new logo has been developed that “integrates both brands along with the Cummins logo” on all products and communications.

“Other than a name change, all other aspects of the Onan RV business will remain the same,” said Garry Enyart, RV division director for Cummins Onan.

Along with the name change, Cummins Onan also announced the launch of a compact Quiet Diesel 3200 line of power generators, designed specifically for use in Class C diesel-powered motorhomes.

The company said that previous diesel generators were too bulky for use in C-body coaches and that the new product weighed half as much as the next smallest Onan Quiet Diesel unit.

“We’re responding to the need for a compact generator that uses the same fuel as the main propulsion engine,” said Ed Pickens, mobile power systems manager for Onan.
