WILL THERE BE LESS RV'S SHIPPED IN 2007?

CHICAGO, Nov 17 (Reuters) - U.S. recreational vehicle makers expect wholesale shipments to drop more than 11 percent in 2007, the head of the industry's trade association told Reuters on Friday.

In an interview, Richard Coon, the president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association, said manufacturers expect to ship 341,900 motorhomes and trailers in 2007, down from an expected 385,500 this year and 384,000 in 2005. The RVIA will release its forecast at an industry trade show later this month in Louisville, Kentucky.

Coon said the anticipated drop, while dramatic, reflected a return to normalcy after two years when the industry's results were artificially lifted by sales to the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency and other relief organizations responding to the hurricanes that slammed into the U.S. Gulf in 2005.
